Can I feed raw to my immunocompromised pet?Updated a month ago
Immunocompromised pets — those undergoing chemotherapy, managing autoimmune conditions, or recovering from illness — may have a reduced ability to handle even low levels of bacterial exposure that a healthy pet would clear without issue.
That doesn't automatically rule out raw feeding, but it does mean you may need to balance the risks associated with your level of comfort. Some vets are comfortable with raw for immunocompromised patients under specific handling and sourcing conditions; others prefer to recommend a pasteurized diet during periods of compromised immunity.
It's always worth chatting with your vet if you are unsure but we also offer fully cooked and HPP'd diets that can be a great fit for pets needing a little extra peace of mind.
