Do Smallbatch Beef and Lamb recipes include muscle meat?Updated a month ago

Yes — and it's worth knowing that in raw feeding, heart is classified as muscle meat, not organ. Heart is made up of striated muscle cells (unlike secreting organs like liver or kidney) and is one of the most nutrient-dense muscle meats available, rich in amino acids, vitamins, and minerals.

The Beef and Lamb recipes use heart as the primary muscle meat source, with additional muscle meat provided by the whole meaty bones used in the rest of the recipe. Because of the higher heart content, these recipes can be richer for pets new to raw — a slower transition is a good idea for sensitive pets.
