Is raw pet food safe for immunocompromised dogs or cats?Updated a month ago

Immunocompromised pets — those undergoing chemotherapy, managing autoimmune conditions, or recovering from illness — may have a reduced ability to handle bacterial exposure that a healthy pet would clear without issue. That doesn't automatically rule out raw feeding, but it does mean the decision deserves extra care.

Some veterinarians are comfortable with raw for immunocompromised patients under specific handling and sourcing conditions; others prefer a pasteurized diet during periods of compromised immunity. It's a conversation worth having with your vet based on your pet's specific situation.

For added peace of mind, we also offer fully cooked options (Lightly Cooked for dogs and Perfectly Cooked for cats) and HPP-processed freeze-dried diets that may be a better fit during vulnerable periods.
