Is Smallbatch Pork parasite-free?Updated 13 days ago

Yes. The parasite people usually worry about with pork is Trichinella (the cause of trichinosis), and it is not a risk in our pork.

The idea that all pork carries parasites is outdated. That concern is now largely limited to wild boar and other wild game. In commercial US pork, it's been all but eliminated: a national USDA survey testing over 3.2 million farm-raised pigs found zero Trichinella infections, meeting the international standard for negligible public health risk.

Our pork is sourced from a multi-generational, US family farm, humanely raised and harvested, and the same quality used by many groceries and restaurants for human consumption. We introduced it in 2016, and it's become one of our best sellers, both for taste and as a lean, lower-fat option that works well for pets with food sensitivities.
