What is the difference between Smallbatch Base Blends and complete diets?Updated a month ago

Smallbatch offers two types of raw products — complete diets and supplemental Base Blends — and understanding the difference is important for making sure your pet's nutritional needs are met.

Complete Diets
Frozen raw sliders and patties, freeze-dried sliders, freeze-dried Small Bites and Meal Bites, Lightly Cooked sliders, and Perfectly Cooked sliders are all formulated to meet AAFCO nutritional standards and can be fed as your pet's sole diet. No supplementation needed.

Base Blends
The 2lb Base Blends are a meat, bone, and organ-only blend intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding. They are not complete and balanced on their own and should be used to add variety alongside a complete diet, or as a base for a customized meal plan developed with your vet or a pet nutritionist.

The easiest way to tell the difference: if the packaging says "complete and balanced," it's a complete diet. If it says "for intermittent or supplemental feeding only," it's a Base Blend.
