What kind of egg yolk is used, how much is added and how is it sourced?
Egg yolk makes up a small percentage of the recipe, added specifically to help meet AAFCO's choline requirement. We use freeze-dried, cage-free chicken egg yolk.

Yes, and it's not a decision we took lightly. We looked hard for a natural taurine source that met our standards, and found that a truly natural, commercially available taurine doesn't exist. Our recipes are still built on whole-food, non-synthetic i

Egg yolk was added to help reliably meet AAFCO's minimum for choline. While the Duck recipe already contains choline naturally, levels from meat and organ sources alone can vary by batch, and egg yolk provides a consistent, naturally abundant source.

No. This addition was a proactive formulation decision aimed at creating consistency. Taurine occurs naturally in animal tissue, but actual levels can vary depending on the cuts and sourcing of the raw materials used in any given batch.
